the clock monkeys

my first band
i played bass
i was bad
i was young
i was silly
i didn't know
neal gentry was
patient i suppose
he said there
are no one
chord songs, just
because three chords
came together doesn't
mean it works.

facebook memories, yes.

i remember this
show. we were
in a basement
whose i can't
recall but i
remember that the
folk watching were
sitting and not
moving or dancing
we were a
bit put off
by that sort
of thing. so
we played anyhow
songs... kisses told
shane thrush
8 o'clock round up

i didn't know
how to play
the bass guitar.

I guess you are the skinny guy on the left, the hair looks kind of the same.

(a) How come you played bass if you didn't know how to?

(b) What made you want to go back for more?

The preppy guy on the right looks like he probably managed well through his teenage years.

hey carla,

the boy on the left is jeff forbes...

the preppy guy is moi. yes... i had short hair... i'm not sure how preppy i was... in truth, i was not entirely popular in high school... i wasn't an outcast... but not top billing either... my parents wouldn't allow long hair... so i waited to grow mine out after college... just when it started thinning. oh irony.

my my my

you have changed.

If you have an easy teenage hood, later years can may be rough. People will rebel at some point. Usually it is in teenage years but sometimes not until midlife.
Whatever happened to Jeff Forbes? Is he a stock broker now?
