you can have it all; you can lose it, too

one of my students used
a semicolon properly. tears
and silent joys burst from
my brain, my mind. semicolons
bind our ideas, making room
for tone and voice. remarkable
in their hybrid personalities and
troubled by teenage abuse, semicolons
should be used wisely. do not
frighten said punctuation marks
with sudden movements or paranormal
threats. let them be who
they want to be.

tonight: roots cafe @ the common ground
in hampden

7pm ellen cherry, geoff himes,moi.
i will discuss why jay farrar
and i are two different people,
spirits, writers, musicians, and
punctuation marks.
